The railroad terminates at Salt Lake City. There are two yards located here, the Western Pacific and the Rio Grande. The WP yard has seven industries that are worked when breaking up inbound trains. Two trains are made up here bound for Oakland. The Rio Grande yard handles the passenger trains and all unit trains; no switch work is required in this yard.
