The Western Pacific has built a small wood structure to temporarily serve as a depot and freight house, while plans are drawn for a larger Mission- style depot to be erected in the future.

Located half way between Sacramento and Keddie, Oroville supports three industries that are worked by four through trains between Oakland and Salt Lake; two trains from Bieber and one local.

The industries are Purina Chow,(a farm supply shipper), a grain storage facility, and a woodchip processing plant. Loaded woodchip cars are brought down from Bieber in the morning and empties returned in the evening. The WP East and West and Red Ball East and West trains make drop offs and pick ups each session.

The Sacramento Northern maintains a locomotive and crew in Oroville and each session makes a round trip to Oakland; working Sacramento, Kindon, Thorton, and Stockton in route.
